Conference on Pedagogy and Sustainable Social Action in the auditorium of the Institute of Research for Social Sustainable Development (INDESS) 27 February 2018
During the day of Tuesday, February 27, Professor Emeritus of the Complutense University, Dr. Santiago Pestchen Verdaguer, an expert in International Relations, has led the conference “Great potentialities of Pedagogy. Special reference to Social Sustainable Action”, where the figure of Jean Monnet, one of the EU fathers, has been addressed, highlighting social pedagogical capacity of this businessperson and French investment banker. In the course of the conference, his pragmatism was compared with the communicative capacity of the father of Modern Political Science, Machiavelli, with the conference being guided around the individual management of pedagogical thought for its praxis, as well as for the use of the word.
This has taken place within the framework of the Master’s Degree Programme in Culture of Peace, Conflict, Human Rights and Education, which has also been attended by students of the Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work of the University of Cádiz (UCA). The conference was organized by Director of the Master’s Degree, Dr. Eulogio García Vallinas, by coordinator of the mentioned Bachelor’s Degree, Dr. Pedro Hernández Lafuente and by person in charge of Research Group Junta de Andalucía SEJ – 561, Dr. Carlos Vladimir. Director of the Institute, Dr. José Antonio López Sánchez, chaired the event. Invitations to the event were made by the INDESS, the Laboratory for Study of the Entrepreneurship of Aid and Care for Social Transformation (LEATS) and the APLICATS Research Group – SEJ – 561.
At its culmination, a colloquium was held, where attendees raised a series of questions regarding the future of the EU.
